How Does It Work?

Your first appointment is one hour, billed to your insurance as a standard office visit. A full medical history is obtained and you will receive a physical exam with labs, education and genetic testing, if indicated.

You will follow up with regular appointments to assess your progress. A team member works with you during these visits to set new goals for diet, activity, stress management and medication adjustments. You can also address any concerns, complications or medication side effects with the MDOC team at your monthly check-ins. Labs are drawn every three months to track your liver and kidney function and cholesterol.

For a one-time cash payment at the beginning of the program, you’ll get an InBody scan every two months (six total) that measures the amount of fat, body water and muscle mass in your trunk and extremities. This body composition analysis reveals changes in your lean muscle mass, visceral fat and body fat percentage. Depending on your results, adjustments may be made to your treatment plan to maximize effectiveness and safety.

Between appointments, you may receive calls or text messages from clinic staff to help with motivation so you can maintain your momentum.

After a year, you’ll be reassessed and either released from the program or referred to other subspecialists for additional options for intervention. We recommend patients return to the program if more than 10 pounds are regained.
